This is the first of many pages dedicated to birds. I have been an avid bird watcher since the age of 11. I will try to break the photos into logical pages starting with this one which is dedicated to Shorebirds.

Amberjack Park is located on the Cape Haze Penninsula in Charlotte County. Amberjack has many walking trails. Two of the trails end at boardwalks on to Lemon Lake. Lemon lake is a very shallow brackish water lake that fills with waterbirds especially in the winter. There are usually lots of ducks, large flocks of Greater and Lesser Yellowlegs, occasionally White Pelicans, Roseate Spoonbills, Kingfishers, and there is a White Morph of the Great Blue Heron that has been nesting not too far away so it is possible you might find it in the area. So keep an eye out for what looks like a Great Egret with a dark bill and dark plume on it's head!
