Size 23": Large dark bird with curved bill.  Faint pale blue skin where beak meets the face.

The Glossy Ibis is usually found on fresh water ponds in ones or twos.  The body is dark and iridescent in bright sunlight.  Some people confuse this with the immature white ibis, which is browner and usually travels in flocks.  It does nest here, usually with other types of birds in a colony, but I haven't found any in the colonies I have discovered.
