Size - 14" :
Long yellow to orange legs. Bill is
slightly turned up.
The Greater Yellowlegs is hard to distinguish
from the Lesser Yellowlegs. The siae is the
determining factor. The Lesser is a smaller bird (only 10 inches). The
best way to tell them apart is by the size and voice. The Greater Yellowlegs
is about the size of a Willet. They are found on both fresh
and salt water bodies throughout the county. The Greater Yellowlegs nest in the
far north.
