Size : 25"   Large gull with gray back and pink legs.  Yellow bill with red spot on the lower tip.  Yellow eye.  Wings much more black than the Ring-billed Gull.  Immature is mottled, bill black with pink at base.

The Herring Gull is a winter resident and is sometimes found in large flocks along the beach in the spring and fall.
