Size - 26" : Large brown
with white speckles. The bill is slightly curved downward.
The Limpkin is a relatively hard bird
to find. It is found only here in Florida and perhaps Southern Georga. It likes the
wooded swamps and thick marshes. Probably the best place to look for Limpkins
in Charlotte County would be in Cecil Webb Wildlife Management Area or near
Telegraph Swamp.
