Size - 37" : Pointed bill and pointed wings Boobie-like eyes.   Mature bird is white with black wiing tips.  Immature is dark on the back and white speckled front.

The Northern Gannet is sea bird.  It is rarely seen inland.  When I've seen Northern Gannets they have always been immature birds as seen in the photos above and along the coast.    This is a large bird similar in size to the Brown Pelican.  These photos were taken on the Boca Grande Pier in July.
