Size : 19" Most easily
identified by the ring on its bill. White tail, breast and head with gray
wings tipped in black. Immature are a little more mottled and have a black
band at the end of the tail.
The Ring-billed Gull,
though not a prolific as the Laughing Gull here is still quite common on the
beach, over large ponds and sometimes in large parking lots. They do not
nest here, but there are first and second year birds that stay year round. They
are slightly larger than Laughing Gulls and smaller than the Herring
Gull that is here in the winter.
