Size : 32"  Large pink wading bird with a long spoon shaped bill.

The Roseate Spoonbill is many people's favorite. Its bright pink color makes many people call it a Flamingo.   It feeds on crustaceans, mollusks and aquatic insects by moving it's partially opened bill back and forth through the water until it feels it's prey and then snaps.  It nests in rookeries with other herons, but I have not found it here yet.  They are often seen in the flats near Bull and Turtle bays and sometimes inland on fresh water ponds.
