Size : 17"  In Summer it has a black cap which turns white in winter.  Long thin bill with a yellow tip. 

The Sandwich Tern is often found around the beaches and the harbor.  It is most easily identified by the yellow tip on the bill.  Though they are supposed to nest near here,  I have only found two tern colonies and both were Least Terns.
