Size - 9" : Long pointed bill.   Yellow-green legs.  White rump shows from behind in flight and extends to the back.

The Short-billed Dowitcher winters here and is seen mostly on the beaches or in the bay.   I did get the last two photos of them in summer plumage in July.  All the pictures here were taken near Stump Pass
