Size : 25"  Large white bird with red face and long curved bill.  Black tips on the wings in flight.  Immature are brown or brown with white patches.  The brown is not shiny like the Glossy Ibis.

The White Ibis is relatively common.  It is usually found in flocks.  There seem to be a great many immature birds.  They do nest here in the county, and I have seen a rookery in Telegraph Swamp.  I have heard there in another on the Peace River, but have not yet verified that.
