Female neck ring can become very thin.
The Wilson's Plover nearly
stopped the dredging of Stump Pass last year. It actually moved the
alignment when a pair of nesting Wilson's Plovers were found on what they call
the Spit. The county is now monitoring the area around the spit.
Last year we had 4 pair of Wilson's and 2 pair of Snowy Plover's nest there and
a colony of about 120 Least Terns
