Size : 8"   Heavy black bill with brown back and white belly.  Full dark neck ring.  Female neck ring can become very thin.

The Wilson's Plover nearly stopped the dredging of Stump Pass last year.  It actually moved the alignment when a pair of nesting Wilson's Plovers were found on what they call the Spit.  The county is now monitoring the area around the spit.  Last year we had 4 pair of Wilson's and 2 pair of Snowy Plover's nest there and a colony of about 120 Least Terns
