Size : 40"  Large white bird with long legs and a heavy slightly curved black bill.  Featherless head and neck.  Black on wings and tail in flight. Immature have some thin feathers on the neck.

There is a Wood Stork rookery on the Peace River.  They are often seen in freshwater ponds and canals.  They can be very friendly and some are used to being fed by people.  After hard rains it is common to find them along drainage ditches looking for frogs and other aquatic life.
